The Missouri Department of Conservation will host several workshops across the state to encourage communities to become more aware of their public trees. Topics will include technical tree benefits and tools for their effective care and management. The workshops will focus on the results of a unique series of tree assessments that took place over the past three decades in 44 cities across the state and the latest research from universities across the country that measures the technical benefits of trees. The workshops will also reveal trends in the attitudes and opinions of municipal officials and Missouri citizens about trees in their community. |
The presentation will include interactive audience polling where ideas and opinions will be part of the discussion. Participants will receive excellent information about new tools for managing community forests and engaging officials and citizens to develop sustainable forests where they live, work, and play.
